Fatehgarh Stitching Collective completes Khadi Gram Udyog garment order successfully

The Fatehgarh Stitching Collective, operating under Anand Foundation, successfully completed its garment production project for Khadi Gram Udyog, delivering 200 stitched pieces – 100 trousers and 100 kurtis – by the scheduled date of 10th September.

 

The team’s skills were shaped under the expert guidance of Ms. Baljinder Kaur, Designer at Anand Foundation, who trained the girls and supervised the production process.

The production process was managed with efficiency and precision under the leadership of Ms. Charanjeet, with team members Ms. Sonia, Ms. Kavita, Ms. Parmjeet, and Ms. Aarti working collaboratively to meet the targets.

In total, 101 sets were stitched, with a project remuneration of ₹20,200. The team demonstrated remarkable dedication, discipline, and skill, ensuring adherence to the required quality standards. This project is a testament to the collective’s capability to execute bulk orders with professionalism and punctuality.

In order to fight all odds, survive and succeed, women must learn to be financially independent. Rural women/girls do not get an opportunity to earn livelihood after their basic education and has no skill to generate an income of their own.

Anand Foundation provides vocational training in cutting/tailoring & Designing to help women start-up a business of their own and become financially independent. Our major objective is to make women confident and self-sufficient. As stitching is something that will continue until the existence of the mankind, women can have a brighter future by opting for this profession. There’s one more benefit – they can continue their work from home so that they can also manage their traditional role as a homemaker.

Through cutting/designing and tailoring course, women learn the art of embroidery, designing clothes, and stitching. Depending upon their interest, they can learn basic stitching or go for the advanced course. They learn the detailed art and acquire necessary skills through practical training.
